What is a reconsideration request?

If your site isn’t on the Google search engine, or if it is performing poorly than before, you could ask Google to reconsider the site. It is vital to ensure that the website doesn’t violate any of Google’s guidelines.

To do this, you need to follow the following 2 steps:

Firstly, check if Google has found any problems with your site with the help of the Manual Actions
Once this is done, you could request the reconsideration of your site

If a website has recently been purchased, which you think might have violated Google’s guidelines in the past, you could ask Google to reconsider the site. You could let Google know that the website has recently been acquired by you and that it adheres to the guidelines.

This could be done in the following 3 steps:

1) Sign in to Google’s Webmaster Tools
2) Make sure that the site has been added and verified
3) Request reconsideration

In August, Google launched the new manual actions viewer in the Webmaster Tools. Since then, the reconsideration request form is the part of the manual actions.

Reason for the removal of the reconsideration request form

Reconsideration requests work only for manual actions, not for algorithmic action. So, Google allows us to only submit a reconsideration request, which is now termed as the “request review”, under the manual actions option. It means less review of reconsideration requests for Google’s people, and the submitted requests would be more target-oriented. The communication with the tools is better right now.

How to submit a reconsideration request?

* Login to webmaster tools
* Click on Manual actions under search traffic
* If there is a manual action, you could view it and click “request view”.
